The True Way to Attract Non-Muslim About Islam

Early this year around January I've been to Osaka, Japan for international visit under my university program along other college committee. One of our activity there was a street da'wah where we've been spread about Islam to the people around the Shinsaibashi Shopping Street and Dotonburi. It were hot place though, because that place been people's attraction especially for the tourist and the local.

We've distribute the flyers 'About Islam' and 'Why Islam?'. Unfortunately, their acceptance towards  our approaches was totally bad. We successfully distribute all the flyers. They might received our flyers but they just received without any thought in their mind. They just see it like a piece of paper and not more than that. Not even 20%, pay attention to what we've been given to them. We tried to explain to them but somehow they just take the flyer and just past by like nothing happen. Some of them just boldly reject our approaches. Its not easy though. I've been thinking how the prophet been doing da'wah for years. 

Part of me feel frustrated when been neglected like that. Seriously, it was embarrassing for me when been treated like that. It not even 2 hours but i felt doom when been rejected again and again.

Why? Why its so difficult for them to just give chance to us to share a bit about Islam? But you know, that thought just fly like the pass wind and I never thought about it again.

But, recently that thought struck on my mind again when I read about an article from IIUM Confession - Luahan Non-Muslim. All that happen during the street da'wah in Japan linger back in my mind. Actually, I've got that thought answer way back in Osaka Ibaraki Mosque.

To be honest, Allah heard what I've been thought after the street da'wah. He gave me the answer through our Q & A with Imam Mohsen. After the street da'wah we all go to Ibaraki Mosque. We've set appointment with Osaka Ibaraki Mosque management to do some activity there. But somehow, the plan change and we do Q & A session instead. 

I remember when we asked Imam Mohsen about how their da'wah to Japanese since we've been back from street da'wah in Shinsaibashi and Dotonburi and their acceptance were bad. 

Imam Mohsen said the true way to da'wah about Islam are by showing to the Non-Muslim how beautiful Islam it is. Just like in the IIUM Confession - Luahan Non-Muslim. We all know people like in that confession always forgot that Islam is for everyone. No matter what skin color you are, what races you are.. Islam still for everyone. To attract people about Islam is not easy. We can't attract them just like what that man do in that IIUM Confession - Luahan Non-Muslim.

But through the beautiful way that show how beautiful Islam it is. How? Just like what Imam Mohsen been practicing in Japan. We need to keep a good relationship with other believers without  discriminating their religions. I love the way of da'wah that Imam Mohsen use there. He and other Muslim there held various activities like inviting the Japanese who live nearby to come to the mosque and dine together.

Said Imam Mohsen, da'wah to Japanese requires wisdom because some preachers may have good intentions to invite them to approach Islam but unfortunately they use the wrong way. So here, in this aspect we need to give full attention where not everyone will give their trust to us. Especially for Japanese. They might be polite in every aspect but in trust they are hardly give in. 

I'm asking you... If you are a non-Muslim. Will you give in your trust when someone or stranger just da'wah to you about Islam without even know you or have any relationship with you even as a neighbor? And just boldly come to you and talk about Islam. Will you attract to Islam if you been approached in that way?

No! If im a non-Muslim i will absolutely hate and uncomfortable with that way. Just like what Imam Mohsen said before, we should not rush to introduce Islam to them. But the most important thing we must do are build a good relationship with them first. 

We need to set the curiosity about Islam in their mind. How? We show them how delicate Islam it is.. By invite them to dinner or somehow just say hello to them. Maybe you can invite them to experience Islam celebration like Eid or invite them to break fast together.

And at one stage they might curious about us. Wow they are kind. Who he is? What he do? What religion he is? They'll be curious what we've been pray before meal. What we do on every prayer time? At the some point they will curious what we been repeatedly said on our conversation. Subhanallah, Allahuakbar, Mashaallah, Inshaallah, Innalillah. All of this will attract the non-Muslim to know about Islam.

Then, who know they might be interested in the way we treat them and it's impossible after that, they will ask and be interested about Islam. Who knows right?

University Life as Lone Wolf @ Lone Ranger

University life totally different from what you imagined. Far different from what you see in drama. Especially for someone that prefer to be alone. 

Bagi aku jadi Lone Ranger/Wolf ini satu perkara biasa. Semuanya bergantung kepada persepsi seseorang. If you want to think a Lone Ranger/Wolf is weird. Then just think like that. You own your own perception. 

Kalau zaman sekolah being alone ini satu benda yang kau nampak pelik dan kesian. Orang akan fikir.. Ahh.. Dia ni mesti kena pulau. Orang tak mahu kawan dengan dia. Must be something wrong with her/him.

In university. Its totally different, Hidup kau is your life. Just live with it. Bukannya jadi kera sumbang. Hal sekeliling pun kita kena ambil tahu juga. If someone need help you must lend your hand first. Ini satu benda yang aku rasa common Lone Ranger/Wolf takda. Aku jenis orang yang tak boleh tengok someone need help. Mesti tangan aku gatal nak pi tolong. 

Kalau time first year. In the beginning, I have one friend yang pada bulan2 pertama. I'll go anywhere with her. Pergi beli makan dengan dia. Even kadang2 pi tidur dekat bilik dia. Lepas beberapa bulan aku dah rasa bosan. Kenapa? I've been asking myself. Kenapa aku perlu do everything with her. She do have other friends. Aku juga ada kawan lain. Tapi kawan yang aku ada aku tak spend waktu aku sepertimana aku spend dengan dia.

I've been thinking. Sebab dia rasa kesian dengan akukah? Aku mula rimas bila pagi2 I need to wait for her.. Ride on the bus together. This is not me at all! I've start change.. Perlahan-lahan aku mula jauhkan diri dari dia. Jauhkan diri ni bukan tak bertegur langsung. Cuma aku minimakan perhubungan aku dengan dia. Thankfully, we have different tutor class. Cuma kami akan bertembung bila ada kuliah saja. Its not like I dont want to see her anymore. It just every time aku bertembung dengan dia akan ada satu rasa serba salah aku pada dia. Ya la.. Bukan dia ada salah dengan aku tapi aku yang selesa bersendiri and mula menjauh. 

Then lama kelamaan aku nampak dia dah mula dekat seseorang. So hati aku ni taklah rasa serba salah sangat. 😅Tapi bila someone tanya siapa aku.. Akan ada orang yang gelar aku kawan si dia.

"OWL R.A.I.N ni siapa?"

"Ala.. yang kawan si polan tu."

Masa tu baru aku perasan. How close we were before. 

After we were far apart. Aku mula jadi pro Lone Ranger/Wolf. Semua benda aku buat sendiri. Tapi satu benda yang buruk mula timbul. Aku jadi lebih pendiam. Aku memang pada asalnya pendiam.. Tapi bila dah jadi pro Lone Ranger/Wolf ni.. tahap pendiam aku jadi lebih teruk.

Tahap confident aku drop. I need to do something. Aku start assign koku class which is English Debate class. Kenapa mesti English debate? Ada ja class lain. Tapi sebab aku tak mahu jumpa siapa2 yang aku kenal. Aku assign ja masuk english debate class ni. Lepas aku assign class ni. I realised yang level confident aku not improve that much. Just communication skill aku yang improve sikit. hahaha.. 

Tapi masuk class ni. Ada benda baik yang aku dapat. Aku mula dapat kawan baru from different  faculty, gender. English aku makin baik sebab dalam class tu kebanyakannya budak law. Jadi nak tak nak aku kena kejar sikit. 

Kalau orang lain dia rasa dia tak boleh survive tempat or environment baru kalau takda orang yang dia kenal. Tapi aku lain. Aku will do well kalau orang2 dekat situ aku tak kenal langsung or tak rapat langsung. Aku tak tahu kenapa. Sebab malu ka or insecure? 🤣

Kadang2 ada jugak kawan2 tutor aku ajak join diorang kalau ada event apa2. Aku kalau boleh aku akan elak. Tapi ada ja yang aku tak dapat nak elak. Macam sebelum ni class rep kata kena stay sekejap. Sebab ada benda nak cakap. Sekali tu diorang buat surprise birthday celebration untuk budak2 tutor dalam class. Aku ni time tu punya hangin memang dah tak boleh nak bawa bincang dah. Muka aku dari awal sampai habis mencuka ja. Tapi years later, bila aku tengah susun gambar dalam laptop aku terjumpa balik gambar time birthday celebration tu. Ya Allah.. Memang masam habis muka aku masa tu.. Hahaha..

Jenis aku ni. Aku tak suka jumpa orang ramai. Maksud aku crowd tu satu hal la yang aku tak suka. Yang satu lagi ni bila aku jumpa new people. Otak aku ni mula la fikir. Macam mana aku nak kenal dengan dia. Apa aku patut cakap dulu? Nak bagi salam ka cakap hi? Arghh.. Stresss.. Lepas tu bila dah kenal tak tau pula macam mana nak buat conversation tu stay. Lepas tu mula krik2.. Awkward mula la datang. hahaha..

Bukan aku tak nak jumpa new people. Aku ni kalau depan crowd and jumpa new people tahap anxiety aku memang dasyat. Tangan aku ni akan menggigil. Apa yang aku cakap akan jadi laju. Apa benda yang aku cakap pun jadi tak ingat.. 

Pernah sekali tu masa mula2 masuk class2 tutor for 1st semester. Aku beranikan diri aku tanya nama and no phone sapa2 yang duduk dekat2 dengan aku. Aku akan ulang benda yang sama on the next class. Yang lawaknya. Aku dah pernah berkenalan and minta contact si D on the previous class. Tapi on the next class.. Kebetulan dia duduk sebelah aku tapi aku tak kenal dia langsung. Serius cakap.. Memang aku tak ingat dia langsung. Sedangkan dah beberapa class aku tutor dengan dia. hahaha.. Jadi aku ulang balik sesi perkenalan dengan dia..

"Nama apa ya? Saya OWL R.A.I.N.. Boleh mintak no. contact tak?"

Dia duduk sebelah aku dah terpinga2.. Lepas tu dia cakap.. Kita dah kenal la.. Hahaha.. Ya ka? Then, dia kata nama dia D.. Aku search balik nama dia dalam contact phone.. Aaah la.. Memang dah ada.. Hahaha.. Aku ni bila berkenalan dengan orang aku tak ambil serius sangat.. Aku tak boleh pandang mata diorang. Nervous dia yang amat.. Ni baru perempuan.. Kalau lelaki lagi la aku tak cakap langsung.. Cakap bila perlu and bila ada assignment or project group. Bukan anti dengan lelaki. Aku ni hidup almost 90% dikelilingi perempuan.. Even sekolah pun semua perempuan. Bila masuk tingkatan 6 and U  baru campur lelaki perempuan.

Even almost 2 semester aku duduk dalam tutor class yang sama. Masih ada nama dan muka yang aku tak ingat. Dan masih ada nama yang aku tertukar bila nak panggil. Hahaha.. I need time.. Sebab aku kalau nak kawan dengan sesiapa sekalipun. It take almost a year untuk aku ingat nama dan muka mereka.

Masuk 2nd year.. Aku tak dapat college. Buat rayuan pun tak dapat. Sebab merit aku sikit sangat. Ya la. Kalau nak dapat merit banyak kena join program2. Tapi program2 ni semua banyak crowd. Aku tak suka. Jadi lepastu aku mula house hunting. Aim aku time tu nak cari rumah yang ada bilik boleh sewa sorang. Dalam kalangan student U aku ni, jarang sangat ada bilik boleh sewa sorang. Biasanya paling kurang 2 orang satu bilik. Kalau aku jumpa pun mahal dia bukan main. Semuanya atas RM200. Last sekali aku jumpa 1 rumah yang bagi sewa 1 bilik RM160. Itu dah kira murah tapi bulan2 semput juga aku nak cari duit bayar.. hahaha... 

Yang aku suka pasal rumah ni almost semua penyewa senior. Satu yang aku aim masa cari rumah sewa ni. Penghuni dalam rumah bukan dari course aku. Macam yang aku cakap kat atas la.. Aku lagi selesa dengan orang yang aku tak kenal. Awal2 aku masuk rumah tu aku dah cakap dekat senior2 dalam rumah tu yang aku ni Lone Ranger/Wolf. Semua sendiri. Diorang pun faham la. Tapi belakang aku tak tahu la. Kalau diorang kisah ke tak. Janji sewa bilik aku bayar on time.. 

Masa duduk rumah sewa ni aku dah boleh bawa kereta. Jadi makin menjadi2 la hidup aku as Lone Ranger/Wolf ni. Tapi aku terlampau selesa sangat. Banyak class aku tak masuk. Tapi takda la sampai kena bar exam. Sebab aku dah set. Dalam semester tu every subject aku nak absent paling max 3 hari. hahaha.. Result exam aku semester tu ke laut. Merit aku tak naik2. 

Jadi untuk 3rd year aku tak dapat kolej juga. What should i do? Kalau aku nak stay kat rumah sewa ni aku kena lead untuk cari penyewa baru untuk bilik2 lain. Jadi aku ambil keputusan untuk cari rumah sewa lain for next semester.

Tapi bila dah nak final exam untuk 2nd year tu. Ada sorang kawan kuliah aku ni, S dia ajak aku join jadi college committee. As S pun tak dapat kolej jadi dia ajak aku apply. 1st stage aku dan S lepas untuk iv jadi college committee. Then on the next week dapat call kata pass iv tu. 

Aku masa tu dah confuse.. Nak ambil ke tidak tawaran jadi college committee tu.. Aku ni dah la Lone Ranger/Wolf. Boleh ka jadi college committee ni? Nanti kena berhadapan dengan orang ramai. Join program itu ini kena organise program lagi..

Mula2 aku nak reject. Tapi bila mengenangkan result exam aku yang dah mula ke laut. Aku terima juga tawaran tu. Sebab aku berfikiran untuk masa akan datang bila aku nak cari kerja nanti. Bila aku nak apply kerja nanti takkan resume aku kosong tanpa join or organise program2 dekat U. Aku nekad.. I need to change. Berubah aku ni bukan bermakna aku berhenti daripada jadi Lone Ranger/Wolf. Tapi aku mula melangkah beberapa tapak ke depan dengan pengalaman baru as Lone Ranger/Wolf.

Bila masuk 3rd year. Aku shock... Every week ada meeting committee plus kena organise program lagi.. Aku jadi ralat. Tidur aku jadi terganggu. Aku mula jadi burung hantu. Siang bila takda class saja aku terus balik bilik tidur. Even waktu gap zohor yang 1 jam before ke next class. Aku akan pecut balik bilik tidur.. 

Kalau orang tanya aku menyesal tak apply jadi college committee ni? 50/50.. Bila stress nak kena siap assignment lagi kena urus program lagi. Meeting yang dah mula jadi rutin lagi. Aku akan kata aku menyesal. Tapi bila ingatkan balik pengalaman yang aku dapat dan kawan2 baru dalam committee yang sekepala plus macam2 ragam. Ada kawan tutor and kuliah aku yang sama2 jadi college committee.  Aku jadi kenal mereka dengan lebih dekat. Aku jadi tak menyesal.

Kalau diingatkan balik time aku jadi college committee ni.. Berapa banyak keluhan, air mata yang aku lepaskan sendiri. Sebab stress yang terlampau. Apa ingat jadi Lone Ranger/Wolf ni kuat sangat ka? Mesti ada masa yang aku rasa tak tertanggung.

Tapi sekarang aku rindukan masa tu. Kadang teringat2. Sebab masa tu yang mengajar seorang OWL R.A.I.N apa makna tanggungjawab. Apa makna prihatin. Apa makna bekerja dalam tekanan. Apa rasa bila dihargai. Walau pernah kecewa sebab program tak memberangsangkan. Kadang kena marah. Tapi semua tu pengalaman yang aku rasa aku takkan dapat kalau aku masih terperuk menjadi Lone Ranger/Wolf tegar. 

Untuk 3rd year tu. Aku jadi mix Lone Ranger/Wolf. Untuk organise program aku tak boleh jadi Lone Ranger/Wolf. Sebab semuanya berkait rapat dan bergantung antara satu sama lain.. Aku tak boleh bekerja sendiri. Sebab dalam organisasi kalau kau bekerja sendiri itu namanya pentingkan diri sendiri. Kalau aku buat sendiri aku akan ruin everything. Sebab semua committee menjalankan tugas yang akan melengkapkan kami antara satu sama lain.. Kalau hilang seorang committe memang goyahlah program tu.

Walau kadang aku yang lead program tu. Aku tak rasa semuanya itu kerja aku yang menjayakan program itu sampai jadi.. Sebab bawah aku ada mereka yang sama2 bekerja untuk menjayakan program2 ni. Jadi siapa aku nak claim program itu aku yang jayakan sepenuhnya.

Kerjasama.. Thats what we do..  Tanpa kerjasama aku tak rasa aku mampu bekerja dengan committee lain. 

To S.. Terima kasih sebab kau yang ajak aku join jadi college committee ni.. Kalau kau tak ajak aku. Aku pasti takkan kenal apa erti sebenar tanggungjawab, kerjasama, prihatin. dihargai. Now aku boleh bekerja dengan tekanan.. Satu benda yang aku bagus sekarang ialah bekerja dengan tekanan.. Even kau bagi aku kerja susah or banyak mana pun.. Aku tetap akan siap dan korbankan malam aku.. Sebab aku tahu betapa beratnya tanggugjawab yang tak terlunas.

Masuk final year.. Aku berjaya dapat kolej sebab tiket aku menjadi college committee tahun sebelum itu membawa aku dengan merit yang banyak. Kali ini kolej aku dekat dengan library. Kalau sebelum ni aku banyak spend time pergi bilik carrel kat library. Tapi bila kolej dah dekat dengan library aku angkut ja buku2 balik bilik lagi senang. Boleh landing atas katil sambil buat thesis.. hahaha..

Then, aku continue jadi Lone Ranger/Wolf macam biasa. Kali ini untuk 2nd last semester sebelum masuk internship. Class aku tak banyak. Jadi aku banyak spend time cari buku kat library and jumpa supervisor untuk siapkan thesis.

Masuk internship pulak. Aku intern dekat jabatan kerajaan. That time, pengalaman aku bekerja under pressure untuk buat program memang berguna plus aku yang Lone Ranger/Wolf mampu survive untuk intern dalam environment yang berbeza daripada apa yang aku lalui masa di U. Aku belajar untuk buat benda baru. Terima teguran. That what I've been experienced as college committee before. Jadi internship life aku masa tu memang smooth.

Now.. 

Aku dah habis 4 tahun di universiti.. I'm practically jobless now.🤣 Bila duduk rumah ni semua tentang student life aku rindu. Aku rindukan suasana bekerja dan belajar dalam tekanan. Kesibukan. Aku rindu nak merayau sorang2. Rindu nak explore benda baru sendiri. Rindu nak lepak library...

Agaknya betul apa yang orang cakap. Kalau masuk u ni enjoy sehabis2nya.. Sebab banyak benda yang aku tak experience and enjoy lagi..

This November i'll officially graduate. Hidup as Lone Ranger/Wolf di U ni aku boleh katakan tak mudah. Satu benda yang aku pernah fikir sebelum ini as pro Lone Ranger/Wolf. Aku boleh buat semuanya. Apa aja yang aku tak mampu buat sendiri?

Aku silap... Even aku hidup as Lone Ranger/Wolf setegar mana pun.. Aku tetap perlukan orang untuk tolong aku pada satu tahap kelak. 

Aku sedar semua ini masa 2nd last semester during final year.. Masa itu aku nak kena analysis data untuk thesis. Tapi respondent aku dari 3rd year student tak bagi aku lagi respond yang boleh aku analyse dengan sempurna. Even aku dah print out questionnaire minta tolong diorang isi pun tetap tak jalan. That time. Aku rasa dah nak berputus asa.. Dengan phone rosak lagi.  Sedangkan time tu aku kena pm respondent aku untuk isi questionnaire. Plus analysis tak buat lagi.. 

Tuhan saja tahu betapa tertekannya aku masa tu.. That time.. S datang.. Dia pinjamkan aku phone dia. Aku ubah strategi. Kalau respondent aku from 3rd year student tak mahu beri kerjasama. Why not aku tukar target respondent. Ya.. Aku tahu itu kerja gila! Last minute.. Mana boleh kan..

But, that night I've been telling myself.. You can do it..  Aku pm dalam group kuliah aku.. Minta semua tolong isikan questionnaire untuk thesis aku. At first hanya separuh yang isi questionnaire tu.. Aku pm sorang2 dalam whatsapp minta tolong kawan kuliah aku.. Masa tu kepala aku dah macam tak betul.. Dengan tak cukup tidur lagi plus migraine dah sibuk nak ambil alih kepala aku. Tapi aku gagahkan jugak. Sebab aku fikir. Kalau aku tak buat malam tu juga bila lagi aku nak siap analyse data nanti.

Semua respon yang aku terima dari kawan2 kuliah aku bila aku minta tolong isikan questionnaire ni.. Baik2 belaka.. Sebab they know how struggle I am bila last minute kena tukar target respondent. Can you imagine it! Kesemua 120++ kawan kuliah aku berjaya isi questionnaire yang aku beri. 

They dont even close with me.. Kebanyakan nama mereka pun aku tak tahu.. Hanya bersua muka di kuliah. Tapi mereka sanggup berkorban tolong aku isi questionnaire.

Aku terharu. Itu yang aku boleh katakan.

Kalau ditanya apa benda yang paling aku kesal bila meninggalkan university life ini? 

I don't make much friends. Nama mereka2 yang sekuliah dan sekelas dengan aku yang sehingga sekarang aku masih tak ketahui dan tak ingat nama mereka.

I wish i could turn back time and start over again..

Its Been A While - I'm Back

Salamualaykum to the readers.. (I don't think I have any for this blog.. But it's okay, this blog just for my own solitude space) :)

Just like the title. Its been a while and.. I'm back.. 

FYI. I've 2 blog.. This one and the other one that I've been blogged since high school. AND for sure i'm abandoned this OWL R.A.I.N IS ME. Cause this blog was my alternate blog where i want to express the hidden me. But NOW. This blog will no longer be my alternate blog.. It will be my Main Blog. 

I've deleted my main blog. And for now, OWL R.A.I.N IS ME will be my own priority. So, start from now on I'll post everything here.

Its crazy right.. I've left this blog since early 2016. And now 2018 will end.. But here i am.. Back to here again..

I do want to post on this blog occasionally. But, you know i can't remember the email that i used for this blog. Though i had done recover email for countless time but still can't remember it back. Start from that I've give up for this blog but i still visit this blog occasionally to see what's new comment in Aku Seorang Lone Ranger post. I know its lame.. since Aku Seorang Lone Ranger was the only post in this blog.. But, who care? And today, Alhamdulillah. I've remember back the email for this blog. So, this will be my 1st post after almost 3 years. Huwaaa... I'm Back!!!!!

Okay stop with the nonsense. Why.. I'm back? Insecure is the perfect answer for now.. I'm insecure or probably embarrass to post something that totally different with the real me.. I don't want people to know the hidden me. So, I had deactivate my old social media.. Delete my old blog.. Its not like i tak sayang all the old memories in there. But, in this world semua orang have two different world that they want to expose to the one that know you and hide from everyone. Its not like the world that i want to hide is illegal. But you know.. The feeling when someone know you just through the alam maya.. You know that feeling right? Its give satisfactions to you.. So that's me.. 

I still cant guarantee if i can commit to post regularly in this blog. For now, maybe once a week or once in 2 weeks I'll put new post here.. 

I'm not syok sendiri. I just want to post something that not for anyone. But just for me..Only me.. Maybe for my old days..
